Intellectual property (IP) protection plays a key role in gaining an advantageous position in the competitive technological game for achieving economic growth. The Indian R&D, with ample technical manpower and good R&D infrastructure base, has the intellectual prowess to create intellectual property. However, the R&D agencies, especially in the publicly funded research institutions including academia, would need information, facilities and capacities to protect IPs thus created.
