Vision for Textile Machinery

By 2020 India will be a leading textile producing country in the world.

By 2000 Technology upgradation, productivity improvement, energy conservation and environmental
protection aspects and quality improvement will take place. This includes CAD/CAM, Robotics, high speed machines, material handling systems, auto doffing and high speed ring frames. Electronic instrumentation and computerised automation. Airjet looms, spinning and preparatory-autoleveller cards and draw fames.

Agricultural research will result in better cotton yield, organic cotton and coloured cotton will be available. Reductionof cost of hank yarns and use of cone yarns by handlooms development of high value yarns like technical, elastic, slit etc. Production of industrial filter fabrics, medical textiles and use of micro fibres.

By 2010 Eco-friendly textile exports will start. Production of Geo & Technical textiles. Machinary modernisation will be achieved and development of advanced machines with electronic controls will pick-up. New weft insertion techniques and continuous rotating system for weaving will bedeveloped. High tech knitting technologies, multiface weaving, meltspinning of microfilament yarn, eco-friendly processing improvement in indoor air quality and recylcling of waste will all be done.

Fibre inputs like jute, linen, fals, polyester, acrylics, polypropylene will find a place in yarn manufacture. Double yarn productivity will be increased by SIRO spinning and TFO.

By 2020 Consolidation of technological upgradation. Becomes a leading player in global market. Large scale units with assembly line plants, diversification into high value garments, jackets industrial wear and sport wear and integrated textile mills to enter garment manufacture will take place (2010- 2020).

Fashion changes will be faster by 2000 than at present.Employment of women will be on the increase especially in garment making.
