Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN)
India and ASEAN countries had entered into an agreement for cooperation in the field of Science and Technology besides other areas like trade, tourism and investment. TIFAC had been a national focal point on behalf of India for this interaction till 2003 in four areas namely Advanced Materials, Biotechnology, Information Technology and Space.
Since 2005, TIFAC is the nodal point for the area on “Infrastructure and Resources development” from Indian side. An International workshop on Management of Technology Innovation was organised by TIFAC during January 2005. It is being planned to organize an ASEAN-India Training programme on R&D and innovation Management during January, 2009. It is expected that delegates from all 10 ASEAN Member countries would be participating.
